Review Process
Jurnal Ilmiah Teknologi Informasi Asia implements a peer review process to ensure the quality, validity, and originality of published articles. This process is an integral part of our commitment to maintaining high academic standards. The journal uses a single-blind review system, where the reviewers' identities are known to the editor but are not disclosed to the authors.
The following are the steps in the manuscript review process:
- Initial Manuscript Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. Manuscripts must comply with the writing guidelines and the journal's scope.
- Initial Editorial Check: The Editor-in-Chief or assigned Editor performs an initial check of the manuscript to ensure compliance with the journal's scope, format completeness, and potential plagiarism (using plagiarism detection software). Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be rejected at this stage (desk rejection).
- Editor Assignment: Manuscripts that pass the initial check are assigned to a relevant Editor based on the manuscript's subject area.
- Reviewer Invitation: The Editor invites at least two expert reviewers in the field to evaluate the manuscript. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, reputation, and availability.
- Peer Review Process: Reviewers independently evaluate the manuscript based on criteria such as originality, significance, methodology, clarity of writing, and contribution to the field. As a single-blind system is used, the reviewers' identities are kept confidential from the authors. Reviewers provide recommendations and detailed comments to the editor.
- Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor makes an editorial decision. Possible decisions include:
- Accepted: The manuscript is accepted for publication without further changes.
- Minor Revisions: The manuscript is accepted for publication after the author makes minor improvements according to the reviewers' suggestions.
- Major Revisions: The manuscript requires substantial improvements and will be reviewed again after revision.
- Rejected: The manuscript is rejected for publication.
- Manuscript Revision (if applicable): If the manuscript requires revisions, the author is asked to revise the manuscript according to the reviewers' and editor's comments, and to include a response to each comment.
- Re-review (if applicable): Revised manuscripts (for Minor or Major Revisions decisions) will be re-evaluated by the editor, and possibly by the original reviewers, to ensure that all improvements have been adequately made.
- Final Decision and Acceptance: Once the revisions are deemed satisfactory, the Editor makes the final decision to accept the manuscript.
- Production Process: Accepted manuscripts will go through the production process, including copyediting, layout, and proofreading before publication.
- Publication: The processed article will be published in the relevant journal issue.
This entire review process aims to ensure that only high-quality and relevant research is published in Jurnal Ilmiah Teknologi Informasi Asia, thereby making a valuable contribution to the scientific community.
